Welcome To The Ladysmith Yacht Club
LADYSMITH YACHT CLUB was formed in 1985. The purpose of the Club is to promote seamanship, fellowship, safety and education for boating enthusiasts in the Ladysmith area. Our Club activities include: recreational organized cruises to interesting venues in the Gulf Islands, sailboat races (both within the Club and interclub) as well as events of special interest to power boaters. Interesting membership meetings usually with a guest speaker, film, video, or other activities of interest. Social events include our Annual Commodore's Ball which, along with the usual fun and good humour, is also the occasion for the presentation of the annual trophies and awards. For the young people, we have a fleet of modern sailing dinghys to provide both competition and training in the art of sailing. The training is by provided by Canadian Yachting Association sailing instructors. The Club has an added advantage, reciprocal moorage privileges with more than thirty other yacht clubs throughout the Gulf Islands, lower mainland and Washington State. The clubhouse is situated at Ladysmith Marina (formerly Ivy Green Marina), at the end of "A" dock. It is a floating clubhouse complete with galley and washrooms. Our members meet on the second Tuesday of the month (July and August excluded) at the clubhouse. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Ladysmith Yacht Club we invite you to attend a meeting and introduce yourself. Further information is available through the club at . |
